Programme Overview
The Executive Programme in Business Finance from India’s premier business school, IIM Ahmedabad, is tailored for mid-level and senior executives who possess minimal exposure to the finance realm but are poised to take on Profit and Loss responsibilities in the near future. It is also ideal for managers who recognize the necessity of possessing substantial commercial acumen for optimal performance, yet have not received formal instruction in the essentials of finance and accounting. The programme is specifically designed for working executives with the convenience of LIVE sessions delivered directly to your desktop (D2D) ensuring flexibility and seamless learning. It has been crafted from a top-down perspective, ensuring that the business context and the firm are always primary rather than the tools and techniques. The case pedagogy provides an action orientation to the learning process, while a campus module allows networking with peers and bonding with the institution and faculty. Delving into topics such as Financial Accounting, Managerial Accounting, Management Control Systems, Financial Markets, and Corporate Finance from a comprehensive standpoint, this interdisciplinary programme is designed to equip participants with the knowledge and skills necessary to navigate the intricacies of the financial landscape. Moreover, with a strategic management component aimed at providing a holistic view of the business environment and enhancing negotiation skills, participants will emerge with a sharpened commercial acumen essential for making informed business decisions.
Admission Criteria
Eligibility & Selection
- Graduates with minimum 3 years of experience.
- The programme is targeted at executives who are currently handling or soon going to handle Profit & Loss responsibilities and financial professionals working in the finance and accounts domain.
Evaluation Methodology
- IIM Ahmedabad shall carry out the evaluation required for certification. Participants are evaluated on the basis of assignments, quizzes, and examinations for all the courses. Participants will be given any one of the following grades:
- “Satisfactory Plus” (S+); “Satisfactory” (S); “Unsatisfactory” (U). A participant will be asked to leave the programme and the fees will then be forfeited in any of the following cases:
- If a participant gets 2nd U for academic indiscipline wherein Academic Indiscipline includes cheating/copying/plagiarism in assignments and examinations and facilitating cheating in any way or is found having integrity issues during the programme.
- If a participant gets 4th U for under-performance.
- If a participant gets 1 U for academic indiscipline and 3Us for under-performance.
- The norms of the programme require a participant to attend at least 80% of attendance to become eligible to receive the certificate, failing which a participant won’t be awarded the certificate.
